Description

ANCHIALO massage oil with Black Sea lye and arnica

Rich in magnesium salts (MgCl2 and MgSO4)

A natural product free from harmful chemical preservatives and colourants. The Black Sea lye in the formula is purified and stabilised so as to guarantee the long-term preservation of its rich mineral and biological composition across a wide temperature range and shelf life. It possesses all the qualities and properties of “ANCHIALO” stabilised Black Sea lye.

Arnica has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

Applied externally, it is used to treat boils, burns, sprains and even haemorrhoids, as it improves the blood supply to the area and thus promotes rapid healing. It should not be applied to open wounds, as this may cause painful irritation. It is also used to soothe muscle pain, bruises, dislocations and injuries, as well as other conditions caused by overexertion or trauma. When it comes to pain relief, it has no equal among natural remedies.

What Black Sea lye is:

Black Sea lye (also known as “Pomorie lye”, “mother lye”, “natural lye” or “medicinal lye”) is a natural product obtained during salt production in the Burgas and Pomorie salt lakes, containing many times the concentration of all the beneficial elements found in sea and lake water. In recent years it has been extracted only in the Burgas salt pans. As the water evaporates from the salt pan, the lye remains above the salt layer as a cloudy, thick, oil-like liquid with a yellow-brown colour and a reddish tint, and sometimes a pungent smell. According to numerous studies carried out over the years by scientists at ISUL and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, it has anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and antiseptic effects. In terms of qualities it is identical to the healing liman mud. It is used for therapeutic and restorative, rehabilitation and treatment procedures thanks to its content of minerals that are extremely valuable for the human body, with magnesium being predominant. Applied to the skin, Black Sea lye supplies the body with magnesium and a range of other valuable minerals and substances, having a beneficial effect on the muscular, joint and bone structure. It relaxes, nourishes and hydrates the skin of the body. The trace elements and mineral substances penetrate the skin and have a refreshing and toning effect on the whole body. It is used for SPA, wellness, balneological and physiotherapy procedures, as well as at home. It is beneficial for so many things that it is easier to list what it is not good for…

Products with Black Sea lye are becoming increasingly popular thanks to their natural origin and its unique beneficial qualities, applicable across an exceptionally wide spectrum of human health. The father of the first products with Black Sea lye is considered to be the renowned Professor and Doctor of Sciences Simeon Georgiev Bachev – the man who conducted some of the most thorough and comprehensive research into the qualities and properties of Black Sea lye and its application in balneology. This is the man who, more than 70 years ago, pioneered research into the mother lye from Pomorie Lake and created the first products with lye not only in Bulgaria but across Europe. ANCHIALO lye products are manufactured at our own modern facility, authentically located on the shore of the Pomorie salt lake. We have the highest level of technological equipment and invaluable know-how for production in the spirit of the research of Professor Simeon Bachev.

The unique beneficial properties of Black Sea lye are due to its rich mineral and organic composition; in terms of biologically active substances it significantly surpasses sea water. Its composition is close to that of mud solution, which is why it has an effect similar to the healing liman mud extracted from these lakes.

Lye has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the body’s defence responses and saturates the body with minerals. One of its most important components is magnesium, which is extremely important for the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Following many years of research, the first lye products were developed more than 70 years ago, offering therapeutic effects and a wide spectrum of application for human health. It is precisely because of its exceptionally beneficial properties for human health that it is also known as medicinal or mother lye. Thanks to its high levels of natural magnesium, it relaxes, nourishes and hydrates the skin. The trace elements and mineral substances penetrate the skin and have a restorative and toning effect on the whole body. Black Sea lye has a beneficial effect on people suffering from joint and muscle pain, stiffness, arthritis, arthrosis, neuritis, inflammation of periarticular tissues, sprains, joint dislocations, fractures, neuralgia, plexitis, discopathy and more. It also works well for haemorrhoids.

The beneficial power of Pomorie lye has been known since the Middle Ages. Many noblemen used lye therapy in the area of Anchialos (present-day Pomorie) to relieve their pain and strengthen their immunity. Today, lye compresses and massage treatments are the most widespread, thanks to their favourable effect on rheumatic conditions. That is why lye therapy is the ideal way to get rid of joint and muscle pain, and it also helps with various skin conditions – acne, slow-healing wounds, fungal infections and psoriasis.

Magnesium deficiency and its consequences

Cramps and muscle tension

Typical symptoms of magnesium deficiency are painful calf cramps, which often occur at night, as well as tension in the neck and shoulder muscles. Tense muscles are a sign of a heightened state of strain in your body and are most often seen with stress and nervous tension. Twitching eyelids and numbness in the fingers are also symptoms of magnesium deficiency.

Lethargy and fatigue

Listlessness, a feeling of weakness, tiredness and exhaustion… These are some of the most common signs of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium deficiency often leads to sleep disturbances, anxiety and, in some people, hyperactivity. Magnesium is vitally important for the functioning of gamma-aminobutyric acid. It acts as a calming neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. The acid helps to transmit nerve impulses throughout the body and influences the way we respond to stress by controlling levels of excitability and tension.

Magnesium helps you achieve better sporting performance

The recommended daily dose for athletes is around 5 mg of magnesium per kilogram of body weight. The increased magnesium requirements of people who train actively cannot be met through food alone, which is why magnesium supplementation is needed. Taking magnesium regularly during the recovery phase helps athletes maintain the levels of fitness they have achieved.

Pomorie lye

The so-called “Pomorie lye”, extracted from the Pomorie salt pans has a proven beneficial effect on human health and is extremely effective in the treatment and prevention of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. In recent years the Pomorie salt pans have not been in operation and lye with the same qualities and composition is produced only in the Burgas salt pans. It is also used to relieve rheumatism, arthrosis, disc disease, inflammation of the periarticular tissues, radiculitis, neuritis and muscle pain. It further helps with skin irritations and conditions (psoriasis, acne), colds, nervous tension, depression, flu, laryngitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, inflammations of the oral cavity, periodontal disease and varicose veins.

Did you know … ?

Magnesium, whose deficiency is the cause of muscle cramps and fatigue, is absorbed best by the body through the skin. That is why massage oil with Black Sea lye and lavender works so quickly – after just 1-2 applications.
